    This report examines awareness and patterns of use of NVQs/SVQs and Occupational Standards. Information sources, employer perceptions and factors affecting take-up of NVQs/SVQs are investigated, along with employee response and practical implementation issues.     Employers’ Attitudes Towards People with Disabilities

Conducted for the Employment Department, this study assessed the extent to which employers were prepared to identify and meet the needs of disabled recruits and employees. Only a small minority met the legal quota. Whilst some people with disabilities preferred to remain unregistered, stereotypes of disability and assumed difficulties deterred some employers from their active recruitment.
