Using an intersectionality perspective, the session discussed what is holding women back in the workplace, from entry barriers to leaky pipelines, sticky floors, motherhood penalties, glass ceilings, and menopause moments. Based on IES research, the webinar introduced a unique ‘lifecycle approach’ to designing women’s career trajectories, offering insights and suggestions on what 'good' looks like and what employers can do to tackle the continuing gender gaps within their organisations.

Topics that were covered included:

  • Women in the UK workplace: progress and pitfalls
  • Barriers to gender equality: an intersectional lens
  • Empowering women’s careers: a lifecycle approach
