This report, which presents an evaluation of the impact of the HSE's Five Steps to Risk Assessment leaflet as well as the Five Steps approach more generally, is based on survey and case study research on risk assessment behaviour in establishments across Great Britain.
The main aims of the research were to assess the:
- take-up of the document by health and safety duty-holders
- extent to which industry awareness of risk assessment has been raised
- extent to which industry now uses risk assessment
- impact of risk assessment on workplace standards.
