Understanding employers’ graduate recruitment practices
The main aim of this research for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) was to provide evidence on the approach to graduate recruitment undertaken by employers and how this has evolved in recent years.
The study explored:
- patterns in graduate recruitment to understand where graduates work
- behaviours of graduate employers to understand how they identify a need for a graduate, how they reach out to graduates to advertise their vacancy, how they operate the application, screening and selection process, and the rationale for the approach(es) adopted and the issues underpinning these
- interactions between graduate employers and universities to support the graduate recruitment process.
