App for Social Action evaluation

Apps for Good have commissioned the Institute for Employment Studies (IES) to evaluate the App for Social Action course. The App for Social Action Course is a 7-session course that supports students in creating a community focused, social action app. The course was launched in the 2023/24 academic year. It teaches young people to solve urgent social issues using digital technology, whilst also providing them with essential skills, including communication, teamwork, problem solving and leadership. The purpose of the overall evaluation is to understand how the new App for Social Action course is being delivered, explore teacher and student experience with the course, along with their views on the course, and investigate the course’s impact for students and teachers.
