Working in 21st Century Rural England

This project sought to identify the rural groups that find it most difficult to move into, remain and progress in employment. The project has also described and evaluated these groups' current pathways into work. As a scoping study it informed the development of the Commission for Rural Communities' broader programme of work on 'Working in 21st Century Rural England'. More broadly, the study also informed the recommendations of the UK Commission on Employment and Skills (UKCES) to Government in 2009.
