Motivations and Barriers to Skill-related Training

IES was commissioned by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills to undertake a review of the evidence about the motivations and barriers faced by employers when they decide to invest in skill-related training. The review used a rapid evidence assessment methodology, supplemented by contacts with experts in the field and drew on evidence from a range of social science disciplines. Policy proposals will be developed from the evidence base.
