Bespoke Development Programme Evaluation

IES carried out an independent external evaluation for West Midlands Strategic Health Authority, of a bespoke Nurse Director and Board development programme designed by the Burdett Trust and the King's Fund. IES sought to identify any changes in the way clinical, quality and other patient care-related issues are perceived and talked about by board members. In addition to pre- and post-programme web-based surveys and reflective interviews, IES pioneered a new form of detailed conversation analysis to audio tape recordings and transcripts of board meeting discussions.
