Neurodiversity at Work

Thu 21 Nov 2024 09:30 to Thu 21 Nov 2024 10:30
Online Event - Exclusively for HR Network members

It is estimated that 1 in 7 people in the UK are neurodivergent, so it is now more important than ever that employers have a solid understanding of neurodiversity and what it means for their workplace.

Neurodiversity is becoming increasingly more present in HR policies focusing on Diversity and Inclusion and attitudes towards neuroinclusion are changing within workplaces. However, in some organisations, neurodivergent workers are not given the support needed and employers lack the knowledge to enable them, so many are left trailing behind neurotypical colleagues.

Event summary

This webinar looks to detail how workplaces can best support employees with diverse needs. Attendees will come away with a better understanding of neurodiversity, spiky profiles, neurodivergent conditions and the policy changes needed at a HR level to best support a diverse workforce. Changing attitudes towards neurodiversity will be discussed alongside challenges that a neurodivergent individual could experience at work and how employers can best support by following legal guidelines, developing the correct policies and facilitating reasonable adjustments. There will be opportunities for discussion and questions following the session.
